Best Garlic Bread ever!

Dave loves garlic bread with lots of garlic as you can see, so this recipe is not for those who are non-garlic fans, but its not as potent as it looks really, garlic loses a lot of its flavour when cooked. So piling it on is not a problem in our kitchen!

Dave’s Homemade Garlic Bread

6 large cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped or 1 tbsp of fried parsley
3/4 tsp. sea salt
2 Calabrese buns cut in half, is what we use or loaf of crusty bread (ciabatta, French, baguette, sourdough or Kaiser rolls), cut lengthwise
6 tbsp. butter, softened or melted or olive oil (or a combination of both is what Dave uses)

Directions

Preheat your oven broiler on the Low setting.

In a small mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the bread to make a thick spread (you can also use a food processor if you’d prefer).  In the microwave or in a pan on stove, melt the butter mixture.

Sprinkle with grated cheese, if desired.

Set both sides of the bread, spread-side up, on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and place in the center of the oven under the broiler to toast the bread first until it becomes golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Take care to pay attention to the bread so it does not burn — it can cook quickly under the broiler.

Remove from oven and spoon melted butter mixture over the top of buns or bread evenly. Then return to broiler for another 3-5 mins.

Once golden, remove from the broiler and set on a cutting board. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes in order to handle. Place on a large plate or shallow basket serve.
