Moroccan Beef Meatballs

These flavourful meatballs are a real treat and if your looking for something with a slightly different flare then go no further. Try this recipe out as it also packs a little heat –or spice it up even more by adding more chili sauce to the meat or dip!

2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tbsp. fresh chopped ginger
¾ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cumin
1/4 cup jarred tomato puree or paste + water
1/2 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
3 tbsp. chopped fresh mint
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
1 cup plain yogurt (or mayo and lemon)
1 tbsp. harissa sauce, store-bought or homemade (or Hot chilli sauce)

Preparation

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Then roll meat mixture into 1 inch balls. Heat a large fry pan and add meatballs. Cook until well done. Set aside and keep warm while you make the Chili dip sauce.

Serve with mixed green salad and vinaigrette!
